Our Leadership

Sam Carson is Corporate Vice President, Operations, at H.W. Kaufman Group. In his role, he oversees contingent workforce relationships and ensures seamless daily operations for the company.

He implements centralization and standardization efforts across the organization for everything from surplus lines tax to company service standards.

With more than 13 years of insurance industry experience, Sam has held numerous positions supporting business development and operations at both H.W. Kaufman Group and Burns & Wilcox.

Dedicated to helping others learn and grow, he is proud of his mentorship work with other associates. Previously a Kaufman Emerging Leaders Program (KELP) coach, he was also a 2017 graduate of the Kaufman Advanced Management Program (KAMP). A known leader throughout the company, he was awarded the Kaufman Excellence in Leadership award in 2017.

He has a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science in Mathematics from DePaul University in Chicago.
